What's the difference between these two usb sticks?

I want to buy a USB stick to install some large games on so that I don't pollute my Surface with them, look at these two:

256GB USB 2 0 Flash Drive | eBay

New Patriot Supersonic Magnum 256 GB USB Flash Drive 81553001 | eBay

Why is it that there are extremely cheap 256gb sticks and extremely expensive ones? What's the difference.

The more expensive one is USB 3.0, while the cheaper one is USB 2.0.
3.0 is much faster.

As an example I changed my Ext hdd caddy from a USB 2 to USB 3 and transfer speeds went from around 20Mbps up to around 80!

A flash drive should show even more improvement as flash is generally much quicker than a HDD.
