Won't update or download new apps

My store showed four apps needed updates, hit the update button. They went to pending (this was a few days ago). Today I tried to download an app. Now it's pending too. For several days, I've had updates showing pending, and now I have a download pending. Is there a way to prod them?

Try rebooting.

Do you mean just using the power switch, rather than just closing it, or is there a true reboot?

True reboot. Sometimes downloads require a reboot before they install though there is no message that says a reboot is required like traditional Windows. To reboot you can hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the Surface powers off and then press for 2 seconds to power on as normal. Or swipe right to left for Charms>Settings>Power>Restart.

The Store has been weird today. I have had problems both on my RT and my desktop. I think maybe Microsoft outsourced the hosting to Google.
