Solved SeaTools - short DST FAIL!!!!!! Help

hi guys...

Little panic at the moment.
I dropped my SP3 i7 512gig ssd from 30-40 cm (watching Tube in bed)

No problems or rattling etc.
Downloaded the Seagate Seatools for window software and ran a "short DST" diagnostic and it failed!
Software manual said it takes 20 to 90 seconds but my test took a few minutes...

it did pass all the other tests
SMART test
Short generic

didnt do the long generic yet

i am truely worried now my ssd will fail me one of these days...do i have to worry now?

edit: gonna install every known decent ssd diagnostic tool just in case

for now SSDLife Pro (trail) says drive health is excellent and should last untill april 2024

Samsung Magician software also showed good drive health status.

Now INTELS Ssd Toolbox...does not work for oir samsung ssd

needless to say i wouldn't panic if i did this test before but i havent, so i cant know

he did a DST test from the begining and it too failed...

The Sea Tools utility is a Seagate centric software meant primarily for their drives. Some of their algorithms might not be valid or compatible for all drives, intentional or otherwise. I would not worry. Your other software confirmed its health.

Just an fyi that I could throw a powered SSD across a room and still wouldn't be concerned about it, It's an SSD!!!!

allright, seems plausible

I had a normal HD drive from an HP laptop that fell from a little bit higher and with a bit more speed (heavier laptop compared to the SP3) and it functioned perfectly...for 2 days, than I was fucked

In my mind I will be rest assure that the fall didn't do any damage to my SSD if after 2 days I can still use it.

any physical shock that would damage the SSD would first shatter the screen all sorts of ways.

If the screen didn't crack don't even worry about it.

DST stands for Device Self Test, which is a Seagate-only routine that probably uses special Vendor Unique SATA commands.

Since you don't have a Seagate drive, it will fail.
