    Hi guys,

My own surface has been relatively cool until now. I just installed the most recent updates...The last one was a hardware update and now the machine is often heating up and the fan is engaging more often. There are no extra processes running in the background.

Has anyone else had this problem. Also, I noticed I had some failed updates from way back---how does one check if all those failed updates have now been properly applied and fixed (forgive me if this was already answered)?

Also, generally for those that watch their temps. Does anyone have a good idea of the temperatures of their surfaces doing various tasks while unplugged and plugged in.

Check task manager to see if any process is eating CPU. It should be below 2% when idle.
