Man this throws me back to my childhood with my Vic20 and C64 w/1541 Floppy Disk drive that overheated all the time. I used a Capsela toy set to make a battery powered fan. I would connect the battery whenever I needed to enter a town in Ultima games or do anything that required the drive to read a large amount of data. Possibly the worst design for a drive EVER and yet I have the fondest of memories playing those old games.
