What is disksnapshot.exe and why is often running on my Book?

I think it's a scheduled task to check the health of the disk. Is it consuming a lot of resources?

Annoying - as it goes as a window over the screen (black old DOS style one).

Did it do that from the beginning? Have you installed all available updates?

Yes and yes. I'm running Build 10576.

Window comes for a few seconds only, any move with mouse - it disappears.

You may want to add Insider Builds to your signature, though I'm fairly certain it only applies to Insider Builds as best I can tell.
