New Surface RT Owner

I have had my Surface RT for about 8mths. It's great for the portability of a pc. My question is if I want to be able to install programs much like I can on my notebook pc is a surface tablet the option for me like iTunes or games that I have bought from Amazon. Anyone that can help or guide me would be most appreciative. I also see there are now like a two in one device. Thanks Sean
