SP4 Issues

I bought my wife a SP4 for X-Mas, and it has been nothing but problems. We love the device, and have troubleshooted immensely. We're still getting issues such as: Windows freezes and is unresponsive(frozen), and the screen turns black sometimes and is unresponsive to the point where powering it down doesn't work. There are no updates left to install... Help? Tried manually doing firmware updates, but the junk on Microsoft's website is just a bunch of code readme's and .dll's with no executable files to run the updates.

If it didn't start that way, the problems you're having tell me you should consider a full reset. The firmware actually should have installed without you going to the download. Are you stock?

It's been that way since I bought it. The automatic updates didn't do anything to help the issues.

It needs a reset. If it acts that way after a reset get it exchanged.
