Surface 3 display dimming issue

I'm on my second surface 3, sent the first one back because of the same issue which is, no matter if it is plugged in or on battery after about 2 minutes the screen goes blank. It does so regardless of the display setting, it will dim even if plugged in and set to never dim. I like everything about the surface 3, but this is annoying. Microsoft suggested a reset, which I did twice on the first one before sending it in for a replacement. Auto brightness is turned off. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Finally talked with a Tech, who did more than to just tell me to reset it. This guy, "James" remote accessed the surface and after about an hour and a half had it fixed.

Do you know what the problem was? And how to solve it? (could be valuable if someone else has the same issue)

I have no idea what the problem was or what he did to fix it.
