Surface Pro Charger

Hi,

I have a mini problem maybe someone here knows if this will work.

My charger's cable broke, the part that goes to the wall .

The cable that goes to my dvd player is similar .It almost fits , infact the light on the surface charger lights up if I hold it still.

So my question is, is this dangerous for my Surface?
