surface pro external monitor resolution

hey guys, i got a surface pro 1st gen and a dell u2713h .

im trying to hook it up via mini display port ( cable included with the monitor ) but the max resolution i can get is 1920. thought the hd 4000 max resolution is 2560.

Does it recognize the Monitor as a Dell U2713h? or is it generic monitor?

and you might need to turn off the tablets monitor. i have to do that to get the max size on my monitor when docked. works like a charm AND keep the tablet abit cooler im sure

yes it recognize it as a u2713H

only problem now is my tablet speaker doesnt work when the mini dp is plugged in?
