Type cover not working

I have a surface RT and the type cover doesn't seem to be working. The volume control and the touchpad works, but I get nothing from any of the other keys. I'm on Windows 8.1 and have ensured all updates have been applied.

Any ideas?

Assuming removing and reattaching doesn't do anything, I'd go to myservice.surface.com and exchange the cover.

I have the same issue.
I thought that it was it was the Touch Cover. So I exchanged it to a brand new one; the first was "little used" (looked brand new).
The brand new doesn't work either.
I'm not happy...
