VGA adpter for HD READY TV?

Read the thread, it was awesome:

But I still have a question. I've got a Surface RT, and I got a no-name mini hdmi to hdmi cabel. It works (star menu desktop application) with my 32" HD READY TV, but when I click on almost any app it stops the app and notifies me that the resolution is wrong and that I can't run this app. Would this be fixed if i bought a VGA adatper? Or the original HDMI adapter?

If you TV is a true 720p (1280x720) TV then the resolution is too low for Modern UI Apps, one work around is many of these TVs allow 1024x768 resolution, see if that works. VGA would give you the same experience and no sound through the TV without using an AUX Cable.
