Here's an interesting bit if intel which confirms earlier reports that Microsoft plans to launch their large sized Surface Hub models later this year.

Microsoft later this year will launch 55-inch and 84-inch Surface Hub models, which will be sold mainly to businesses. A Surface Hub will run Windows 10, and essentially work just like a Surface Pro tablet. However, these devices are conceived for team work-related purposes at the office, and are supposed to help companies increase productivity.

Each Surface Hub comes with multitouch support for 100 touch points and two styluses. Each pen has its own doc that’ll recharge the device while not in use. Other features include dual camera support, and NFC connectivity, that’ll likely let users easily beam documents from other devices to the Surface Hub. ~ BGR

Although these are obviously meant for commercial use, how many of you guys would consider dropping thousands to get one of these?

I was able to get hands on with the 84" and 55" versions last week. Both are running a customized version of Windows 10 and store 0 User State (i.e. they wipe the session between each use). There is no Administrator Account, Command Line nor access to the Control Panel or Settings.

They will run Windows Apps only (aka MUI) and can be managed by MDM solutions like Intune, AirWatch, etc.

Primarily these are targeted to replace VIOP Conference Bridges, Crestron Systems, Projectors and Whiteboards.

The two primary applications are Skype for Business and OneNote Whiteboard Edition.

They will release pricing and availability info later this year.
