Even trying to define this new hybrid category is confusing, and that's before you get a chance to think about which model works best for you. To take some of the pain out of the process, we've compared six of the best 2-in-1 laptop/tablet devices in all of the key categories you need to be aware of.
For this year's guide, we're looking at six devices:

- Apple iPad Pro
- Lenovo Yoga 900
- HP Spectre x360 (both early 2015 Haswell and late 2015 Skylake models)
We have a variety of devices: tablets that transform into laptops via a keyboard attachment (like the Surface Pro series), laptops that double up as tablets thanks to a reversible display hinge (Yoga 900 and the Spectre x360) and the unique Surface Book, which is a full-blown laptop with a detachable screen that makes for an ultra-light (but shorter battery life) tablet.
