Solved Audio Jack not working

I connected my ear buds to the Pro today and no audio. However the internal speakers were happily playing. I suspect that I now have a damaged audio jack. I know that the device is well out of warranty so just wanted th know if anyone has found a how to repair the faulty component. Most of the threads on here that relate seem t be back in 2013 so was hoping for updated info.

Another thought: You didn't say what software you were using, but I had a similar experience recently. I was using Firefox to listen to the Rush Limbaugh show while in a waiting room, so didn't want it on the speakers. I had plugged in the ear buds after I started Firefox. I discovered that I had to re-start Firefox with the ear buds plugged in. That worked. I don't know if any other software has that requirement, but it's worth a try.
