can't copy file to flash drive

I just bought a surface pro and made a 5gb mp4 video file then bought a 32gb SanDisk USB flash drive, tried to copy the mp4 to it but it says the file is too big for the 32gb drive. I checked the properties of the drive thinking maybe I got a smaller drive but it is 32 gb. What am I doing wrong?

IS the Drive formatted FAT32, NTFS or exFAT? If it is FAT32 you can only copy files that are less than 4GB in size.

thank you. It was fat32. I now was able to reformat. It works.
