Can't load Check Designer 14

I am trying to load Check Designer 14 on my Surface pro 3; I can load it on any of my other Windows 8 computers, no problem. But, every time I try to load it on the SP3, I get Error 1320 The specified path is too long C:\ProgramData\Documents\Nova

I've tried every thing that Avanquest suggests, nothing. I've tried safe mode, nothing. It doesn't allow me to change this path anywhere, so that's not an option.

Is there something about the SP3 that is keeping this simple program from loading?

just wondering if you tried "run as administrator". that could ne an innocuous error with permission issues.

Yep, tried that too. I just don't get it, why it will work on all the other pc's but not the surface.
