Connecting LG Monitor Ultra Wide 49WL95C

I'm trying to connect my LG ultra wide monitor with my surface pro x. I've tried a few cables already and i can manage to get the resolution 3840 x 1080 available in the list of modes but when i apply it does go full wide screen but flickers, so i'm close. This was using a usb-c to hdmi adapter 4k.

Any ideas how i can get this to work?

I have an LG 34WN80C-B 34 inch WQHD monitor, I'm using USB-C (which also deliver power and USB Hub). Works as expected. Does your model support USB-C to USB-C?

The other option is using an active USB-C to HDMI cable.
