Ear buds with microphones?

I know it is common for most smart phones to accept ear buds with built in microphones. Will the Surface Pro 3 tablet do this as well?

I was thinking of picking up a pair for travel.

In a pinch, I use the headphones/mic that came with my android phone. But when I'm at home or office, I use a good pair of over the ear with a mic for Skype and Lync calls.

Take a look at the ones from NHT. They sound and feel great and I hate ear buds as a rule.

I don't think my Apple ones do, but I should think ones designed for Android will. I might test properly later.
