Headphone jack not working

My headphones are not detected when I plugged them in. In the playback devices box, it says headphones are not plugged in even when they are. What's going on here?

Did you try disabling the Speakers in the Playback Devices and then have Windows detect playback devices (with the headphones plugged in).

If that doesn't work you can try removing the audio device in device manager and rebooting
