this is a shot in the dark but does anyone know if this laptop has a fan on the processor? Ive read reviews stating the lower end processors do not ...apparently there is an area for a fan though in the design

Define lower end. They put a fan in the new yoga 3 Core-M... lower than that would have to be an Atom. The comparison I saw of the Yoga 3 with the 2 showed two fans in the yoga 2 and one in the yoga 3. IMO without the fan they would be cueing the song - This Girl is on Fire!
