Onenote 2013 keyboard not showing

When I do not have my keyboard cover attached and I am in tablet mode, I can't seem to figure out how to type in onenote 2013. I can click on the page and my caret will appear like I am able to type, but the on screen keyboard does not appear like it normally does when I am in a text field ready to type.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Also, every time onenote 2013 launches it asks if I want it to be my default application and I say yes. Yet it keeps prompting me when I launch it.
