Stylus buttons

I am under the impression that if I press the top button on the stylus, OneNote should launch automatically. When I press my button, nothing happens. I checked the preferences in OneNote, and all the correct boxes are checked.

Any ideas?

The top button (and only the top button) of the stylus is Bluetooth. You must pair the pen to your Surface 3.

1) Show Bluetooth devices
2) Hold down the pen top button for 6 seconds. An LED under the clip will light up.
3) Pair the Pen

If Step 2 fails, coin cell batteries (not AAAA) may be missing or exhausted.

Embarrassing that I did not see that elsewhere....despite doing some Googling! I saw that the bottom buttons were working in other applications, and I thought the top button should work the same way....
