Surface Pro 2: Awful Screen Contrast?

I wasn't able to find a solution to this on search, so I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

Problem: Colors appear REALLY dark on the Surface Pro 2. See pictures for example. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Could you provide a shot of your desktop. It's difficult to tell what "I'm" looking at and how it should look.

Uploaded new pictures that better show the problem. These are from the exact same image, just shown on the two different devices.
