Finally, the Microsoft Surface Windows RT arrived at us while the Surface Windows Pro is still on the road. Featured a 10.6-inch, 16:9 widescreen ClearType HD Display, the Surface tablets are ideal for enjoying movies, TV shows or podcast anytime as long as you want. If you have ever purchased some videos (TV shows / Movies) from iTunes store, you may want to copy them to your Surface RT or Pro Talet for enjoying on the go. However, things turn to be different when you're trying to sync and play iTunes videos on your Surface, you're only told that the Microsoft Tablet cannot play them because of Apple's FairPlay DRM copyright protection.

As we know, M4V videos purchased from iTunes store are protected by Apple's FairPlay DRM and can only play on Apple products. In addition, M4V is not a video formats supported by Surface tablet. Of course, you can't play them on your Surface tablet without any additional effort. To transfer and watch iTunes movies on Surface RT or Pro tablet, you'll need to remove DRM protection from M4V and convert DRM M4V to Surface tablet compatible video formats like MP4.

To get the work done, we'll need to get a DRM removing tool. If you are interested in doing this likewise and looking for ease-to-use, check out Pavtube's ChewTune, a top iTunes Movie DRM Decoder which can easily handle iTunes DRM-protected videos and Windows Media DRM contents included with the Amazon WMV, Blu-ray/DVD Digital Copies. And the playback of the converted videos is as decent as possible as original. Now follow the steps below to convert and put iTunes videos onto Surface RT or Pro Tablet.

P.S. For watching videos on the Surface Tablet, 720p with 1500~2500kbps is just all right. I find that bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss.

Step 3. After above steps, just click "Convert" to start removing iTunes DRM protection and converting iTunes M4V to Microsoft Surface MP4 videos.

Once the process completes, download and transfer the DRM-free iTunes videos to your Surface Tablet via USB cable. Then you are free to enjoy and watch iTunes movies on Microsoft Surface RT/Pro Tablet as you like.

P.S. If you have no idea about Surface file transfer, you can check out the post The Ways Transferring Files to Your Surface to learn more.

of course yes. basically, ChewTune is an easy-to-use DRM removal app, which can help users copy and convert DRM locked music/movies purchased through online stores, e.g. iTunes, Amazon, WB Digital Copy, Blockbuster, etc. Meanwhile it is able to convert Blu-ray/DVD digital copies (transferred to pc in Windows Media (.wmv) or iTunes video format (.m4v)) to fit your different uses.

So you can achieve your goal to get the iTunes, Digital Copy movies and Surface RT or Pro Tablet to play nicely.
