Weird occurance - files in recycle bin aparently synced from another computer

I found files in my Surface 3 Recycle bin that were never on Surface 3 but they were on another machine.
Yeah I use the same MS account on a few machines.
I'm puzzled... Any ideas?

Files you chose not to sync on your OneDrive.... placeholders most likely

That could happen if onedrive is updating and you choose to not have any files sync. Any files that already synced would end up in the recycle bin.
