Windows Store - Notification of updates...

This maybe simple, but here's my issue anyway! With my iPhone I have it set so when there's updates available to my apps, it pops up with the little red circle to notify me they're there. I can then read the change log and manually update them myself.

Is there a way to get it exactly like this on Windows 10? I seem to remember on Windows 8 you could only set it to manually search entirely (i.e. you won't get a notification that there's any waiting) or to let them install automatically, not knowing there have even been updates applied.

Just go to app settings and then switch off automatic update

If I turn if off, can I then manually search?

Once you open store, updates should show up but won't automatically install. However, if you don't open up the store, you won't see that you have updates.
