Have you tried booting into UEFI and exit (Hard Reset)? Also what Router are you using?
Just tried that now. I'm using a Netgear WNDR4000.
That is an older Router (at least in terms of technology), when was the last Firmware Update?

For those who are having issues with WiFi, uninstall them and delete the drivers, reboot and allow the earlier drivers to install, then unzip the driver package and update to the June WLAN drivers and they are much more stable without the power drain of the original drivers....
It looks like the Windows Update Install had issues and the manual install seems to fix them... no 6 Mbps issue with now...
Maybe a month or two ago. I'll check to see if there are any updates. But the Surface would be the only device I own that has issues on it...
What I mean is it came to market in early 2012....
