Just got my SP3.

I had 2 tabs in IE open and its charging and then the fan came on after like 10min.. and the back top right was really hot. I wasnt even doin anything on the SP3 I was just letting it charge and on my Desktop

So i closed the IE and then after 1min the fan stopped and its no longer hot.

This normal?

Hi Kroogy, welcome to the forum!

This issue is not "normal", but other users have been reporting the same thing the last few days- occasional or intermittent high CPU usage while using IE, resulting in warmth in the area of the processor and the cooling fan coming on.

My guess would be to look for this to be fixed in an upcoming update.

It also depends on what type of sites are you browsing. Also if it's a new machine there are indexes going on and updates, etc. So give it few days so every thing "calms" down.
