Update on the "Remote Desktop Mystery"

The other day I reported on a problem trying to connect with RDP to two of my Win10 machines. While GreyFox was leading me to the pond to drink, I observed that both of those machines had network status as "Public." Not knowing how that could be, I changed it to Private, and my problem was solved -- for the time being.

Now, I have observed that something in the Windows Update process is resetting my network status to Public -- on those two machines, plus one other. I know not why or what. I live alone, except for two dogs, and neither of my dogs is computer literate. I just change it back to Private and get on with my life.

This is FYI only, because I do not intend to invest any time in solving the mystery. I have concluded, as my Semi-Buddhist Ladyfriend suggested, it may be something I did in a past life.

My further conclusion is that it will eventually solve itself, . . . . . . . . . . . . or it will not.

Regards,
Russ
