Beginning of lines drawn with pen jump in certain applications.

So I'm trying to use my surface pro 3 and pro 4? pen to take notes for students and I noticed that some programs don't respond well to the beginning of a line drawn with the pen. OneNote and a few others work quite well but DrawPlus and Open-Sankore do not. If I can describe the problem, it's as if the first touch is registered but there is a slight delay till the motion registers. So if I try to draw a circle, the beginning of the circle is always a straight line from the point I put down my pen to the point the program registers the next location. Does anyone know of a fix to this?
