Charging via USB?

So another newbie question. I got to the office today and realized I forgot my power cord. I see the Surface 2 had a USB Charging option is there something I can do on the Surface 3 as opposed to heading back home for the cable?

I have an extra cord at the office, and a 12v adapter in my car for a time like this. I also have a battery pack for all my gadgets (click here). Drove home too many times.

Where did you get that cable? I've an ianker astro pro 2 or whatever its called, which is designed for notebooks, with 12, 16, and 19v DC output that would be ideal with the sp3

Of to Best Buy I go a spare charging cable isn't bad to have laying around.

The Surface Pro 3 charges at 12v, making it most versatile.

The battery pack I linked to in the original post outputs 5V, 9V, 12V, 16V, 19V, and 20V.

Then I`ll buy a second charger, cut off the plug and make it interchangeable with a stabalized 12V car adapter...

Or if MS releases a car charger, I`ll buy him directly ..

Don't like the dimensions or the weight, I'm going to go with a PowerTraveller MiniGorilla. Readily available on eBay in the $100 price range.
