closing cover triggers sleep mode or not?

I was assuming that closing the touchcover or typecover would turn off the screen as on an ipad, but I fear this is not the case. instead, I havetopress the power button each time (or wait for thetimeout, I guess).

can anyone confirm?

You can confirm for yourself. From Start, type Change what power buttons do, touch Settings.
