Displayport to DUAL HDMI

Hi All

I have surface pro connected to a dual hdmi adapter. It works great for controlling two external monitors. The problem is that windows detects the two monitors as a single, large monitor. Thus maximize / minimize and windowing is difficult. i.e. maximize a window like Outlook and it spans both monitors.

Does anyone know of a way to change this behavior so the two monitors are detected as separate screens?
