i7 512 Battery life

The unit went from 100% battery charge to auto-shutoff this afternoon in 1:10 or less (I found it off when I returned from a trip at lunch and it showed 5% battery when I plugged it in and rebooted).

When I left my desk: it was wi-fi connected. The only open program was IE. Screen was at 100%.

The fan was running when I left (as it had not turned off since the machine was booted up this morning).

Anyone else having these severe battery drain issues?

(It is a great machine - but useless as without battery life).

I would do some further testing before jumping to conclusions that it has a defect. Maybe play a long YouTube movie in recycle and check the battery indicator every hour.

I work with VS 2013 over 6h and the buttery is still good.

Absolutely. My first suspect is a rogue process somewhere.
