Installing scanner problems

So I have a print/fax/scanner that I already looked up that its compatible with the Pro3. I added a device, installed my printer...went to scan button and there was nothing installed.

No problems printing but I have no scan ability. Ive looked up drivers but theres like 12 different onces for my printer which is HP1522.

Any ideas?

I don't see anything but universal drivers for that printer, which are usually not a good idea to install. How is it connected?

Windows should connect and use it with native drivers, including scanning.

I'm thinking of uninstalling the printer and plugging it in via USB to download drivers. Does the printer have to be set to default to scan?

No, but connecting directly may help get it going correctly.
