Anyone found an Intel HD Graphics package that this Atom Z8700 will accept?

I cannot right click on the desktop and open a graphics control panel.. i think the generic intel gpu drivers are to blame. No advanced video quality settings to be found anywhere except here... cmon intel! push them out.

Thanks in advance!

Loving the machine so far btw. Minimal issues.

There appears to be CherryTrail/CherryView driver on Windows Update catalog for some Toshiba (1179) device
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=pci\ven_8086&dev_22B1

Code:
ki106675.inf
%iCHVGM0% = iCHVM_w8, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_22B0&SUBSYS_F8401179
%iCHVGM1% = iCHVM_w8, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_22B1&SUBSYS_F8401179

It won't install on Surface 3 because it does not have a matching PNPID.

If you are desperate, you could download the .cab file, uncompress and copy all the "CUI" files noted in the INF to c:\windows\system32 (don't overwrite any existing files!) then try to run some of the .exe files and see if they work. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky.

Or better to just wait for the official driver to be posted on intel.com.

Here are the CUI files noted in the INF:

Thanks for the welcome above, and thank you for this info. I haven't had time to dig in again, however I'm seeing a few promising cherryview and skylake packages being dropped towards the bottom of the thread here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24340-intel-gma-drivers/page-35

I'm guessing one will work, but there's no way intelSoft is going to leave us S3 users for long without a proper set of drivers.

Fun times...

4177 manually installed and so far without issue. Graphics control panel working just fine. Hope some official ones come along soon.

Also, repeatable scores of 25000+ in 3Dmark (Windows Store version) show the performance of the new X7.

Smokes the A8x, the Exynos7, and everything else except for Core series and the TegraK. Amazing for a 2w cpu.

I like it.

(side note: scores didnt change with new GPU drivers)

Upgraded to Win10. There was a surface firmware update and an official (super new) IGP driver available from WU. Working good. No issues so far (other than standard win10.10074 issues), and graphics control panel is fully featured/official.

I tried manually installing the 64-bit 4177 driver but my screen went haywire with it, so I had to switch back to the official driver. I'm hoping that Intel rolls out an official version with the control panel soon.

Mine was good for a whole day on those 4177 on 8.1, then i got some flashing screen issues too. Was random. They turned out not to be stable in the end. Im sorry that i recommended them and didnt reply back that they had eventually failed!

No worries! The thing with unofficial drivers is that they work sometimes or on some machines but often aren't stable or reliable.
