Is there a way to remove the screen dot beneath the pen?

I find it quite annoying and useless. Is it trying to inform me of where I am about to touch the screen? I can pretty much tell that without a dot. The Samsung Note 10.1 shares this feature but gives users the options to turn it off (because it is annoying) but I don't see an option to turn it off in pen settings. Is MS going all Apple on us a forcing us to accept a feature whether we like it or not?

Is there an aftermarket app that can turn it off for us?
