Want to make it more comfortable to use an SP on your lap? Get 1 to 1.5 in. diameter pipe insulation, with a slit along its length, at Home Depot, and cut to fit the length of the bottom edge of the kick stand. Insert and comfortably surf away!

It's not padding but as someone suggested, I got some plastic slide-on folder clips from the office store. Just about the perfect length, it provides a wider edge to rest on my legs vs the somewhat sharp edge of the kickstand. Also it closes down almost flat.

What I am still looking for is a way to build in my Surface Pro in the car. On the other hand, now on vacation I am using my Galaxy S8 as navigation and for navigation I must admit that Google Maps is so much better!

I'd been looking for something to soften the edge. This worked great! I found a clear edge at my local auto supply house. Thanks for the hack.
