Locked Out of Surface Pro

I am completely locked up. I can't swipe, use the keyboard or even shut it off. I don't know how it happened or what to do to get back in. Please HELP!!!!!

When you say you can't power off, did you press and hold down the power button for a bit?

Yes. Plus it won't even go into sleep mode.

Okay, but "by a bit" I don't mean one second or two. You have to hold the power button down several seconds. Certainly by 10 seconds it should power off.
