Micro SDXC card

Does anyone knows what is the right formatting type for the SD card on Surface 2 (NTFS or exFAT). I looked up the user guide and did not find any information.

yes use NTFS

I believe this may well depend on the microSDXC card maker. I believe one popular card maker recommends exFAT, and acknowledges other formats may cause issues as the card reaches capacity.

The Surface shouldn't have issues with either format.

NTFS is better esp. with cards over 4gb exFAT is a inferior format and only to be used with certain devices like smartphones and other devices similar

NTFS. It is required if you make a symbolic link to it.

Thanks guys. I formatted it to NTFS and it works great (Samsung 64gb micro SDXC), I did not measure the speed but the card materials says it is 20 MB/S write 70MB/s write.
