Mini displayport adapters that WORK

Looking for options to run dual DVI screens from the SP3 dock's Mini Displyport ?

Is my only option to use a Displayport 1.2 MST hub then convert that to DVI ? I have e-mail'd the vendor for this one

Who replied that they are having issues when using an adapter to covert the full size DP ports to DVI

It worked for one day. Then windows downloaded an update (on 10/06/14) and the next day it no longer worked from either the SP3 port or the docking station port. Have tried numerous times and ways to get it to work with no luck. Does anyone know if this Oct windows update may have changed something related to the display port?

Are you guys all using these plugged directly into your SP3's? Or docks?

This session, I give 5h/week of lecture at Univ. I use my sp3 plugged directly to the projector through the StaTech adapter. No dock.

I move the SP3, use OneNote to interact with my students, write on it, draw on it, unplug it, replug it.

It works like a charm. Absolutely zero problem.

My purchase at MonoPrice has been perfect. This is what I ordered, and there is no short adapter cord that hangs awkwardly off the port in your SP3.

I bought the clunky white no-name one. Mine has dvi, hdmi, and vga.. Works just fine.

I got a $2 MDP to HDMI adapter from ebay and it works fine with my 1080P TV:

So you don't need to pay more than $2 if you just want to hook up your Surface to a TV.

Here is a Belkin HDMI 2.0 compliant cable that works for $14.41. Not that you actually need the bandwidth but it should be decently future proof.
