MS Surface Reformat with Windows 8 Pro

So "MS Surface with RT" is released on Oct 26th as well as "Windows 8 Pro"... However, "MS Surface with Windows 8 (not RT)" is TBA...

My question is can I purchase the "MS Surface with RT" and a copy of "Windows 8 Pro" on Oct 26th and just reformat the MS Surface and install Windows 8 professional?

Or are there hardware-specific reasons that the MS Surface being released on the 26th can't run Windows 8 (not RT)?

No, it won't run Windows 8. RT uses the ARM archetecture, Windows 8 is for x86 arch. the Surface PRO is basically a full-fledged PC in a tiny box, the RT is a high-end tablet.
