My surface 3 overheated and died

I loved this laptop/tablet for 18 months but last week, when it was powered off, it got very hot, apparently a battery short circuit, then battery level dropped to 6% and would not charge. Fortunately, I had bought it at Costco so was on their 2 year warranty; they cannot repair or replace it so I've gotten a refund and will buy something else. Really, really disappointed; when it worked, it was perfect....

Surface Pro 4 is too big and heavy for my needs, unfortunately....

You dodged a bullet my friend. That is the benefit of buying from brick-and-motor. Save the money and get the next great tablet.

I am getting the same problem for these couple months. Its getting really hot when i am using it while it is charged. Guess i need to consider for buying SP4.

Not bad timing... within warranty, and a few days before Microsoft rolls out the latest Surface products.
