New owner of Surface 3

Can some please tell me and show me an image of what the port is and does on the right hand side of the laptop. It looks like a small SD card slot ? But I think not... I don’t want to put something in incorrectly.

Thanks for this image but this is not my layout of pors. I have 1 USB and a 3.5mm head phone jack, 1 USB C all on one side but it’s the other side of the laptop the unknown port!

If you have a Surface Laptop 3, then the single port on the right side is the Surface Connect Port. This is for the Microsoft Surface charger or the Microsoft Surface dock.

You are right. The first picture was the real Surface 3. Then you also have a Surface Pro 3, Surface Laptop 3 and a Surface Book 3. I do expect you have a Surface laptop 3
