Note taking apps

I'm wondering if anyone knows of good note taking apps. An app that will let you read a book or pdf file for example and then highlight certain words or sections or annotate on the side of the page? An app similar to notarize or notability that the iPad has?

Please use the search function the next time - and with keywords like pdf notes (pdf has only three letters and will be ignored, so the search results wouldn't be helpful) you could use

"pdf note"

to get some more helpful results.
