Now this is weird...for the first time ever, I booted up today and the function keys were reversed...that is, the standard F1-F12 were active, not the PgUp/PgDn etc., and CAPS-Fn doesn't switch it back (though Fn+the key does activate the "special" function.

Anyone ever have the "Try Again" issue in Windows Store with Error Code 0x8007003? I can't seem to update anything

Have you tried running wsreset.exe? Usually seemed to fix Store related problems for me on Windows 8.

Over 10x as an Administrator as well as various PowerShell commands and cleaning out Downloads and SoftwareDistribution

I've got it installed on my SP3 and installing now on the S3....

So far it has better performance all around and the menu are more consistent across the UI.

Installing on my HTPC, my SP3 had Insider builds turned off when i was testing ways to fix my Windows Store issues and I just turned them back on, nothing yet

Yes I concur. In addition there is a system firmware available if you check windows update.
One more thing, if you open devices and printers, the new icon graphics are very nice in my opinion.

Apparently the firmware update was from 7/23/15

Be sure to visit the Store to update the Store.
