Product activation code same for PC and surface?

Can I use the same product activation code to install Office 2010 on the Surface Pro 3 tablet that was already used to install Office 201o on my PC? Or will I have to buy new Office software?

I think you can activate at some number of computers the same product key, don't remember the amount.

I had Office 2013 key activated in the past at an preinstalled asus tablet last year, i sold the tablet but keep the key and now using it at mine i7/256
