I have the Surface Pro. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Fujitsu customer service and their level 3 engineering personal. The s1100 connects to the Surface pro and shows in the device manager as well as the desktop view. It will however not communicate with the scanner so the scanner will not operate. I can hook the scanner up to my wife's windows 8 laptop or my windows 7 desktop and it works perfectly. I am sure there is a simple cure for this and am prepared to try anything as long as I am assured it will work.
 
I went to Amazon to check this out. I think I might like to get one if it can work with the SP2. Did it come with a CD for software installation? Didn't it go through any tests during the initial installation? Did you look in Device manager to see if there were any bats on the device? Perhaps check for device updates in Device manager.
